At the Casting Workbook, we take the business of acting very seriously. Even though the Workbook is one of the most extensive talent databases in the world with over 50,000 members, it is far more than just a database. Casting Workbook is also a digital pitching, marketing and courier service for actor portfolios as well as the busiest online breakdown service in the world where it counts most… the number of roles cast electronically.
Your local union database is valuable, however, it contains only members of that association. The Casting Workbook includes members of ACTRA, SAG, UBCP, UDA AFTRA, AEA, CAEA, MEAA, etc. This means complete roster representation for agents and, therefore, one stop shopping for casting professionals.
With over 50,000 members, the Casting Workbook hosts up to 500 breakdowns, 70 000 agent submissions, resulting in over 2000 roles being cast in major film, TV, commercial and theatrical productions each month.

With a few mouse clicks, a client in any city can order local courier delivery, in key cities, of any electronic materials stored on Casting Workbook. This allows, for example, an agent in Toronto to send a clients headshot and resume and DVD copy of their demo reel to a Casting Direct in Los Angeles in less than 3 hours at a rate less than a traditional courier.

Agents don't always wait for the breakdown to be sent to begin pitching their clients for upcoming projects. That's why we created ePitch.
ePitch is a fast, effective and secure way for your agent to move your electronic portfolio worldwide to casting professionals on or off the Casting Workbook. Your agent controls who receives your portfolio. It is simple and does not require plug-ins or proprietary software other than a standard web browser. Your Casting Workbook thumbnail photo is embedded into a letter format with your agent's logo and linked to your entire portfolio including your resume, photos, audio and video reel where provided.
The old tedious and expensive methods have been eliminated. There is no duplication of photos, audio reels, video reels or letterhead. There are no manila envelopes or stamps and best of all, your agent knows when your package has arrived and whether it has been opened.

NOW APPEARING is a "TV guide" designed for virtually every type of venue that offers casting professionals a way to promote or track an actor or model’s career. This unique software is tied into Casting Workbook’s breakdown service allowing this guide to display credits and certain show details for viewers.
Agents and Casting pros can now put actors on “watch lists” for instant email and SMS notification whenever they appear in any venue type.
Actors and their agents can now enter stage, theatrical and video releases, magazine covers, showcases, television shows, billboards, personal appearances, etc. Represented talent and their agents can post their appearances and leave tickets at the “willcall booth” for casting and production executives. Agents receive an automatic “roster appearances” list that tells them when and where their actors are appearing. Non represented actors can post appearances and “show off” their talent to prospective agents and casting pros alike.
Artist's Workbook
From your private Workbook you can log in to review your materials, download sides provided by your agent, post messages and much more.
Your Portfolio contains:
1. Your thumbnail photos for quick searches, your headshots (approx 3 x 5) with contact details and specs and your jumbo photos, (approx 8 x10). You can provide us with additional photos (up to 16 per portfolio) and casting professionals can view your range of photos from here. Only one photo comes up in initial searches and you or your agent can control the "default" photo from the Edit menu at any time. View a sample portfolio.
2. Your html resume is keyword searchable by casting directors as well as your agent. Your agent can also update your resume at any time and in addition, is capable of triggering the Workbook permission for you to update the resume that they use. View a sample resume.
3. You can include up to 8 searchable audio clips in your profile. By uploading them separately by type ie. animation, it is easier for voice casting professionals to zero in on the type of product they're interested in. 4. Video demo reels and audition or monologues can be uploaded to your portfolio for distribution. Again, by uploading them separately by type, ie commercial or feature film, casting directors can zero in on the product that they are interested in.
