Tory is a blunt, passionate and loyal director for Channel 12 News. She presents herself as having everything figured out but can be a wildcard, often letting her emotions get the better of her.

(She/her or They/Them) Deeply caring and optimistic, Marielle tries to help her partner navigate her new life and the changes to their relationship. She feels the need to fix everything for Aria, and to make everything okay, even when it isn’t something she could possibly fix.

OF MIDDLE EASTERN DESCENT ADAM (lead character) meets an older man at an embassy. The man is charming and they strike up an easy conversation during which Adam asks why, at his age, he's still trying to immigrate to Canada. He gives a tender response about the importance of still living for new experiences at his age.

He shouts at her for not saying the right things at a high stakes meeting with an immigration office. Instead of sticking to the plan that they want to immigrate to Canada due to "religious persecution" , she let slip that they have family there, leading him to angrily rebuke her for foiling their plans to make a convincing case for immigration. A playfully relatable couple's argument ensues in which he accuses her of being just like her mother. The scene offers satirically- tinged glimpse at the reality of how people approach immigration strategically.
