Dr. Maya Chaudhry
Meet Dr. Maya Chaudhry, a seasoned South Asian Psychotherapist, Trauma & Addiction Specialist, and Clinical Sexologist. A take-no-shit therapist with a heart of gold, Maya has built a reputation for cutting through silence and stigma with warmth, intelligence, and an unwavering commitment to healing. She expertly navigates the intersection of culture, mental health, sex, and identity, offering a safe space where nothing is off-limits. Proud of her South Asian heritage—the rich traditions, vibrant celebrations, and deep sense of community—Maya also wrestles with the cultural constraints that have shaped and stifled generations. She sees how family loyalty can trap people in careers and marriages they never wanted, how 'the aunties' dictate choices, and how five-millennia-old traditions continue to govern modern lives. But what she despises most is the therapy-averse mindset—the way mental health is dismissed and suffering in silence is normalized. Guided by her sharp wit and compassionate heart, Maya is determined to break this cycle — not just for her clients but for herself. Beneath her poised and commanding exterior, she carries the weight of her own unspoken struggles—family expectations, cultural pressures, and the emotional toll of guiding others through their pain. Dr. Chaudhry creates a space for honesty, and her intuitive, no-nonsense approach leads clients to powerful revelations. Tackling issues, Maya helps her clients change their stories as she slowly realizes she's still rewriting her own.
Dr. Brian
Dr. Brian is Maya's trusted colleague, unfiltered confidant, and occasional voice of reason. The pair share a cozy staff room, making them an inseparable part of each other's daily lives. Unapologetically queer, with a sharp wit and a fearless approach to honesty, Brian never hesitates to offer unsolicited advice—whether Maya wants to hear it or not. His sassy, no-nonsense demeanour is balanced by a deep well of compassion, making him both a reliable friend and a professional sounding board. Their conversations range from deeply personal confessions to lighthearted banter, weaving a friendship built on mutual trust, brutal honesty, and unwavering support. When Brian speaks, Maya listens—because if there's one thing she knows for sure, it's that he'll always tell her the truth.
