Sonu
We peel back the curtain on hidden identities and the cost of cultural conformity. When Sonu—a closeted LGBTQ+ man engaged to a woman he barely knows—confesses his truth in therapy, Dr. Maya challenges him to bring his fiancée, Rita, into the session. What follows is a jaw-dropping twist neither Maya nor Sonu expects. As the couple explores the possibility of a modern-day marriage of convenience, Maya confronts the emotional consequences of secrecy, identity denial, and unresolved shame. When Sonu reveals he may be struggling with porn addiction and the fallout it's having on his real relationship, Maya guides him toward understanding the deeper roots of his coping mechanisms—opening the door to healing. This episode takes an unflinching look at queer identity, family duty, sexual health, and the fine line between survival and self-betrayal—all through the lens of a therapist who refuses to let anyone stay hidden in plain sight.
