Gurpreet is desperate for a job. Coming out of university, he thought a job would come easily, but after many failed interviews, he has realized getting work will take a lot more than a good résumé. Despite his meek demeanour, he is a fast learner and will quickly realize how to gain an advantage from his situation in the film.

Jimmy, (Black) in his early twenties, works as a store employee. Within the hierarchy of the workplace, he is often treated as a scapegoat, bearing the brunt of blame and frustration. Seen as the weakest link, Jimmy stands out not due to malicious intent or incompetence, but because of his vulnerability and lack of experience.

Trans woman. Survivor. In transformation. Caucasian IRISH ACCENT PREFERRED Trixie is amid becoming—she is neither who she was nor fully who she wants to be. Participating in the heist to fund her gender-affirming surgery, she carries deep vulnerability beneath hardened resolve. Her internal conflict mirrors the film’s core idea of evolution: growth demands risk, but risk demands sacrifice. Trixie is the most morally grounded character, even as she participates in crime.

Career criminal. Philosopher of survival. Caucasian IRISH ACCENT PREFERRED Pinky is sharp, cynical, and unsettlingly calm. He rationalizes crime through crude evolutionary metaphors, believing survival justifies all behavior. To him, morality is a luxury for those who can afford it. He mentors Trixie in his own warped way, blurring the line between care and exploitation. Pinky represents adaptation without empathy—evolution stripped of conscience.

NOOKOMIS Female 60+, Indigenous. Nookomis is the spiritual guide of the animal world. Her voice travels on wind, water, sunlight, not visually embodied. The children and animals in the series occasionally hear her, as she guides the baby sacred animals to the lessons they need to learn. Her voice is warm, soft, and calming. Her words are sometimes poetic, but she never lectures and is down-to-earth. She encourages, but never corrects. She is often amused by the adorable baby sacred animals, and her giggles and chuckles warm our hearts. PLEASE NOTE: signing ability (not essential, but an asset), and proficiency in Anishinaabemowin (a strong asset). Please just put it in your notes if you can sing or speak Anishinaabemowin .

Marin's Grandmother. She is a quirky, kind, and a hard working woman with lots of humour and groundedness. She had her daughter (Marin's mom) Lauryn quite young and had a divorce soon after. When Lauryn had her daughter young, she wanted to show support in the way she wished her family had given her. When her parents passed, she outbid her brothers, got the house and started a new life with Lauryn and Marin. Must balance going on tangents with being sincere. Comedy experience preferred.

The logical, trusting, and somewhat firm single mother of her teenage daughter, Marin(17). She upholds a type of independence in the home that she once aspired for her mom and now for her daughter. She had Marin in her early 20's, so as a young single mom, she turned to her mother for help. Now, Lauryn, Marin and Jean (her family matriarch) all live together in Jean’s house. Must balance authority and kindness. Comedy experience is preferred.

Juni is obedient and malleable, Maya and Juni are id and ego, one cannot exist without the other, they are rumoured to be lovers. Once they are separated and Maya is taken away, Juni slowly starts losing her grasp on reality. Juni must rescue Maya. Key traits: Juni is quiet, resilient, self-aware and clairvoyant.

She has also never been married, avoiding the social leash all together. She still had to pay - in the lives of young girls who she “put on the right path”. It is unclear exactly how but Ms. Horne runs “The Heifer Program” where the worst of her students are sent to be impregnated and then reintegrated to society. She believes in her cause and purpose as a guide for poor lost souls. Ms. Horne is a retired psychiatrist and a talented hypnotist, which explains her far-reaching influence on the current and past students. Key traits: dominant, charismatic, witty and cunning.

Female, early 30s,any ethnicity. A scientist who appears in a dirtied, slightly bloodied lab coat, Kat is gripped by a mix of hyper-vigilance and panic. Driven by a desperate survival instinct, she is haunted by her decision to abandon her crew. Her objective is to bypass the ship's emergency lockdown at any cost to reach the escape pods.

Male, 30 - 40 yrs old, any ethnicity. James is a loyal, battle-worn engineer in bloodied overalls, limping from wounds sustained fighting the creature. Driven by love and betrayal, he delivers the key to Kat's escape at ultimate cost, his dead-eyed rage sealing their tragic end.

He’s resourceful, stubborn, and deeply caring, even when life keeps pushing him down. Beneath his quiet demeanor is a constant anxiety about money, time, and keeping promises.
