But when a literary critic, with whom Lee engaged in countless arguments, mysteriously dies, the finger of suspicion points to Lee. It turns out that he's not against falsifying evidence, but in the end, he is proven innocent.

50s-60s, flirtatious with a sprinkle of narcissism and sleeze, Nash is a veteran critic who is the Chair of the judging panel at the Mystery Writers Convention in Founders Cove, and he's one of Allie's regrettable past flings that she tries to keep a secret. Despite his womanizing tendencies, Allie has a soft spot for Nash; she owes her career to him. He was the first critic to exhalt her talent -- his glowing reviews and uncensored honesty propelled her to success.
