Artists will receive a minimum guaranteed fee of $400 before profit share (1 share/actor). Two young actors will alternate the role of Tiny Tim, with a guaranteed fee of $200 before profit share (0.5 share/actor). These minimums are based on a cautious estimate of box office revenue. We are actively pursuing sponsorships and will be running a crowdfunding campaign.

PLEASE NOTE: in the event the run needs to be cancelled or cut short due to illness or other Covid-19 related considerations, artists will receive a guaranteed fee of $100/ea ($50/ea for the young actors) plus a share of any profit.

Storyline
A CHRISTMAS CAROL is a highly original, immersive, and critically-acclaimed adaptation of Charles Dickens’ story, set in the historic Campbell House Museum at Queen and University in downtown Toronto. Our production invites audiences to step into the world of Victorian London and follow flinty miser Ebenezer Scrooge on his ghostly journey of redemption. For more information about the show, please feel free to read our 2019 review from NOW Magazine (NNNNN): https://nowtoronto.com/culture/theatre/a-christmas-carol-campbell-house-justin-haigh

We are actively interested in seeing Union and Non-Union artists from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds, all gender identities and expressions, all abilities, and all body types. Genders listed in the breakdown are specific to the character, not necessarily the performer. In accordance with our Anti-Racism and Oppression Initiative, we welcome all submissions but strongly encourage IBPOC artists to apply.

Most actors will be playing 2-3 characters. Ability to do a British accent (RP, Cockney) is a must, and classical theatre training is a plus. The show contains some musical elements so basic singing skills are also useful.

PLEASE NOTE: All artists involved in this production must be at least 3X vaccinated against Covid-19 before rehearsal start.
