A woman whose wallet is stolen in a crowded public space. Description
Must speak Farsi. Local actor preferred- Toronto.
Maryam and Reza's observant, resilient daughter. Since her baby brother's kidnapping three years earlier, Leila has grown up too fast, quietly adapting to her family's financial hardship and pretending not to notice the desperate choices her parents make to survive. She tapes up her own worn-out shoes rather than ask for new ones to avoid putting any more financial stress on her parents. Fiercely protective of her mother, Leila tries to heal her family's grief with a heartbreaking act of generosity.

Requires a child actor capable of subtle, emotionally truthful work opposite adults, with strong listening skills and the ability to carry a high-stakes dramatic climax. Must speak Farsi; dialogue is emotionally demanding and cannot be performed phonetically.
