Guarded, burnt out, and directionless, Gabe is the exhausted interim manager of
Corner Store Convenience Store, the family business his parents once proudly
owned. Burdened by unpaid bills and a responsibility he never chose, Gabe

Description
Ethnicities: Filipino or Southeast Asian.

Preferred Age: 14-17

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Loud, overconfident, and persuasive, Jason is Joe’s older brother. His worldview
has been shaped by social-media influencers, online “life hacks,” and the belief
that money can solve any problem. After learning that their mother is grieving the
loss of their grandmother, Jason creates a scheme to win free money using a
lottery ticket and make their mom happy again. His plan relies on his confidence,
his refusal to take no for an answer, and his ability to convince Joe that
everything will work out. Beneath the confidence, Jason is an insecure but
protective older brother who is desperate to help his family.

Description
Ethnicities: Filipino or Southeast Asian.

Preferred Age: 10-12

Sweet, innocent, and insecure, Joe is Jason’s younger brother and would do
anything for his family. Trusting Jason completely, Joe participates in the
lottery-ticket scheme believing the winnings will help bring their grandmother
home and make their mother happy again. He approaches the plan with
complete sincerity, even when it involves wearing a fake moustache and
presenting an obviously homemade ID. As the truth is revealed, Joe’s excitement
turns into confusion, heartbreak, and anger, changing how he sees both the
scheme and his older brother.

Hungry, persistent, and chaotic, the Homeless Man sleeps outside Corner Store
Convenience Store. For years, Gabe’s parents quietly looked after him and

leaving the man confused, frustrated, and increasingly desperate. When Jason
and Joe recruit him to pretend to be their father in exchange for chips, his
presence quickly throws their plan into chaos.
