IMPORTANT NOTES FOR AGENTS & ACTORS:

The Prime Video series adaptation of Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone features a darkly comedic, witty, and self-aware tone. Described as heartfelt and darkly comedic, it blends classic and modern whodunits with a witty twist.

“’...a brilliantly inventive series that subverts the murder mystery genre in the most unexpected and entertaining ways...Ben (the novelist) created a world that is darkly funny and wickedly clever.”

The show mixes grim plots about murder with funny, sarcastic moments. The main character, ERnest "Ern" Cunningham (played by Penn Badgley), acts as an expert on mystery writing. He often talks about the rules of classic whodunits. Even though everyone in the family has blood on their hands, the story keeps a light, clever energy rather than pure terror.

The logline for the series states: Set deep in the dense mountains of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, the series follows Ernest “Ern” Cunningham (Penn Badgley), a mystery-writing expert who reluctantly attends a family reunion in a remote mountain resort to welcome his brother Michael home from prison — the same brother Ern helped convict. When a frozen body appears and a heavy snowstorm traps the quirky family together inside, the deaths begin to mount. The family members begin to eye each other with suspicion and dark humor...because everyone in this family has already killed someone – either by accident or otherwise.
