They were close in high school when he could not defend himself physically or verbally from bullying in Jamaica, for his meagre stature and suspected sexuality. Jareth eclipsed Dominique in ambition and achieved corporate success, because of his diligent work ethic and desire to prove himself worthy. As the relatively straight man in this comedy, think Don Cheadle meets Omari Hardwick. He needs to be able to pull off comedy by taking himself way too seriously when he says absolutely outlandish and diabolic things.
