Presenter (Product Launch Presentation)
White. Calm, intelligent, and trustworthy professional. Looks like someone who’s worked in real business and knows how to explain complex things simply. Short, neat hair, clean-shaven or light stubble, optional thin-rim glasses. Note: The presenter will deliver a scripted product presentation in a clear, confident, and engaging tone, calm and professional, not overly salesy, explaining a solution with quiet authority. ON-CAMERA ROLE. Teleprompter experience is a plus, but not required. Must be fluent in English with a neutral North American accent.
Building Manager (Web Commercial)
White. A no-nonsense, man who’s spent decades managing buildings and dealing with tenants. Slightly gruff but sharp and highly competent, with dry humor and a strong presence, never overacted. Average build, slightly weathered face, gray or balding hair. Calm, deadpan delivery. Note: Talent must have a natural delivery and subtle comedic timing. Fluent in English; a touch of character in the voice or accent is welcome.
Oscar
Anxious, endearing, and painfully self-aware, Oscar is a queer college student struggling with issues of sexuality and identity and his digestion. He meets TJ on the apps and finds TJ incredibly attractive. On their date, Oscar wrestles with nerves surrounding his inexperience, and the nausea from his incredibly upset stomach. Must be comfortable with implied sex scene with male actor, and scene in bed with implied nudity (implied only). Please note if actor has dance experience (NOT a requirement).
TJ
Confident, effortlessly charming, and a little oblivious, TJ is an older hookup who met Oscar on the apps. He's confident in his sexuality and discussing things on the topic. He likes Oscar and isn't turned off by his inexperience. Frat-boy energy with moments of surprising sincerity. Must be comfortable with implied sex scene with male actor, and scene in bed with implied nudity (implied only). Please note if actor has dance experience (NOT a requirement).
ELGIN
Male, Around mid-late 30’s, any ethnicity. Missed the train on a proper education, a family, or even just a life with solid footing. Thought he could cheat the system a little bit by reinvesting assets, but instead of aiming for real estate or property, he went for Xboxes and TVs. And there’s no better way to keep overhead low than to get stock as cheap as possible. Even free, if you’re careful enough.
Myra
Female, Late 30’s to early 40’s, any ethnicity. Stable and happy with her lot in life. No tolerance for nonsense, unless it’s coming from her. Single mom, and likes it that way. A son off to college, and a long road of free time ahead of her. Believes people can change, but they often need to hit a hard, fast wall before they truly can. Myra sees little issue with erecting that wall herself if need be.
JONAH
Male-presenting, 37, any ethnicity. On the cusp of becoming an incel. Deeply insecure, extraordinarily manipulative, and has no idea he is either of those things. Weaponized masculinity to a dangerous degree. Every woman he has ever dated has left him (and rightfully so).
THE FANTASTIC FRIEND
Female-presenting, 30s, any ethnicity. Resigned, yet resilient. A people pleaser learning to say ‘no’ for the first time. Her short, conscious life has always been under the control of others (Jonah, to get more specific). She doesn’t even have a name.
FRANKIE
Female (she/her), 30's, any ethnicity. Your “gold star” lesbian. Had to put up with a lot of shit in high school because there was no hiding her queerness. She sometimes feels like a grumpy old woman complaining about “kids these days” and how “nobody knows how to drive anymore”, but she doesn’t know how to not be bothered by those things. She’s only been in serious long term relationships and has never had a one night stand. She’s been with her wife Jill for 8 years but still feels insecure sometimes about Jill’s promiscuous past.
JILL
Female (she/her), 30's, any ethnicity. A free spirited bisexual/pansexual girly who falls in love with a person not their gender. Kind, annoyingly optimistic and conflict-averse. She came to her queerness later in life and never officially came out because she shouldn’t have to. She’d just bring home a new partner (of any and all genders) every month and say this is who I’m dating. Her wife Frankie of 8 years is the first serious relationship she’s ever had. She thinks it’s good she “had her fun” because now she can settle down and enjoy the rest of her life with her person. Any ethnicity, queer performers encouraged
BAKAR
Male, Mid 20s, BIPOC, dry witted, caregiver, impatient. Bakar is unafraid to call people out and say what he needs to say, usually with an edge of humour attached as to not completely ruin a relationship. Bakar is more impatient than anything else. He loves his aunt but has no time for her newly discovered transphobia. He’s not angry about what’s happening, just tired.
AUNTY DORTHY
Female, 60, white, sharp sense of humor, gentle, gullible. When it comes to her health, Aunty Dorthy is rolling with the punches. She’s got a lot going on that is scaring her but tries to remain on the positive side of things. She’s extremely red as she heals and gets confused quickly. She appreciates and loves Bakar more than anything and doesn’t quite understand why her views are problematic for him.
MARTINA
Female, 48, Open to performers who are Latinx, Hispanic or have heritage from a Romance-language country. Martina is a frustrated actress. She’s on a melodrama called “Talk to the Heart”, and every season, as she ages, her role gets smaller and smaller. She’s triggered by her comfortable shoes, and can’t contain it anymore. She has an outburst while filming that she directs against her lover, John, who is also the Executive Producer and Lead of the show. She wants to be seen with all her flaws, beauty and sexuality. Performer should be comfortable taking off layers of clothing down to a slip dress.
JOHN
Male, 54, any ethnicity. John has stress as the Executive Producer and the Lead of a very wholesome popular show. His life revolves around his job, and although he cares for Martina, he isn’t strong enough to stand up for her when she needs it most. He tries to see her, but ultimately, it’s not enough.
Patty
Black Female Presenting. 18-30 Must be strongly facially expressive. Tired of not being able to live up to modern day body standards, Patty develops a determination to do what ever to fit the mold. Strong willed, passionate and intense. Role requires prosthetics - must be comfortable wearing prosthetics.
Woman 1,2,3
Black or BIPOC Female Presenting. 18-30 Emphasis on women who are active/women in fitness. Seeking women of all body types.
