Maeve
Maeve keeps everything together- her home, her routines, her emotions. She’s calm and collected on the surface, but underneath, there’s a lot she hasn’t dealt with. When she finds out her mother’s Alzheimer’s is getting worse, she’s forced to face everything she’s been avoiding for years. The role is quiet and internal. Lots of subtle emotion, stillness, and small details that say more than dialogue.
Frances
Maeve’s mother. She’s gentle and kind, but slowly slipping away due to Alzheimer’s. There are a few moments when she’s sharp, but many others when she’s completely lost in her own world. Even with the confusion, she still feels full of warmth and love. This role needs a lot of sensitivity and natural emotion, showing the illness without losing the humanity underneath it.
